Spotify News: Spotify tests music discovery stream like TikTok

New Delhi: Music streaming service Spotify is testing a personalized stream on the app’s home screen like China’s short-video creation platform TikTok to help users easily discover music.

It’s testing a new experience for Spotify users (across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada) where they can find new music and view Canvas loops in a stream custom that lives on the home screen of the mobile app.

Each day, the stream will recommend 15 songs.

“To navigate the stream, simply scroll up or down through your personalized selections to hear a preview and see each song’s canvas,” the streaming service said.

You can add a song to one of your playlists or follow the artist, all from one place.

Spotify said if there’s a recommended song you want the world to know, you can share it to your social media directly from the stream, and the canvas will loop in the background of your story.

Spotify is also experimenting with an “audio newsfeed” for podcasts.

The Swedish music streaming service is testing a feature that lets listeners discover the music they love with a collection of playlists curated by select Spotify users and influencers.
